Funktionen is run by me, Thomas, and was initiated to be my professional creative outlet where I combine functional design with responsible manufacturing.
I have always created and tweaked the things around me, chasing better funtionality seen from my perspective.
Form follows function is true for all of our products, but sometimes the form outshines the function. Meaning, thoughtful design can turn a functional object into a piece you actually care about.
We always strive to use sustainable material and manufacturing.
The 3D-printed parts of our products are made from bio degradeable PLA (Polylactic acid). This type of plastic is initially made from cornstarch and considered a carbon neutral alternative to petroleum based plastic.
Material such as wood and electrical hardware is sourced from local producers. FSC wood is always prioritized.
